When we at The Wisdom Factory CIC consider applications for our annual Grant Fund, it's often the simplest of ideas which capture our attention. The Karis Neighbourhood Project, Birmingham, provides a welcoming venue for people across the local area to meet regularly and play - wait for it - board games! Not a keyboard in sight - remember the days? The project is run entirely by volunteers and enables many from single person households to meet people, have fun, and develop a range of skills. The Wisdom Factory CIC was delighted to award the Project £300 to expand their games library. You can visit them on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SummerfieldGamesCafe
The Wisdom Factory CIC is a social enterprise creating wisdom from knowledge, skills and experience for community benefit. At least 5% of turnover is set aside for a grant-making fund that will be allocated to Birmingham good causes in the spring of each year, just after the company’s year-end. And we’re based in an old factory.
My name is John Kemp and I am Head of Training at The Wisdom Factory CIC, specialising in Well-Being and Personal Resilience, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills, and Conflict Resolution.
