An exciting week for the Wisdom Factory has seen new faces, new clients and an award!
We have been an awarded an exciting contract for the Shaw Trust to provide disability equality training to their staff across the UK.
Shaw Trust is a national charity that helps people to experience work, find a job and live more independently. Sarah will deliver the training to their Work Programme advisers who support people to prepare for, find and stay in work. The training will be specifically aimed at giving advisers the skills to identify, and the confidence to break down, the barriers faced by disabled people in seeking to fulfil their potential.
On a related note, Sarah gave a speech at the Asian Fire Service Association’s national conference last week. At the glamorous dinner in the evening – which celebrated Staffordshire’s diversity though dance, music and cuisine – Sarah was awarded Equality and Diversity Champion 2014.
She was nominated by our client, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. Sarah (pictured with some of the Staffordshire Fire Service team) had this to say: “To be put forward for the award by an organisation which has achieved excellent level in their own equality and diversity peer review makes this recognition extra special and working with them remains an inspiring and exciting opportunity.”
