What kind of bloke is John Kemp? Well, nothing screams how good you are at something like having a great big trophy to show for it. That being the case our new Head of Training, whose name is John Kemp, should be just champion given the size of silverware sitting next to him in this photo. John got this impressive ewer for becoming the National Public Speaking Champion in 2005. John is taking up the challenge of reviewing, redesigning and implementing our training programmes for 2015. If you are a client of ours you might well hear from John soon as he sizes up the possibilities for improving our training offer and aligning it with better with client needs.
John’s background doesn’t just contain public speaking plaudits. John taught equipment related training in both the West Midlands Fire Service and the Royal Marine Commandos. Yes, that means he has firearms training, but we’re hoping that’s one skill set he won’t need to transfer to working at The Wisdom Factory. More recently John, as a qualified stress management coach and ISMA member, has delivered stress management training to a variety of clients in the private, public and education sectors. All in all, John has been training people to do all sorts of things for over 30 years. The ideal person to be our Head of Training, in fact.
John finds meeting new people fascinating, enjoys playing sport with his three young sons and writing (fiction and non-fiction). The first time I met John we were supposed to meet for half an hour in a coffee shop. Two hours later we were still engrossed in conversation and getting slightly caffeine-buzzy. He’s that kind of bloke.
